A former Radiology Business and Regional Manager, Orthopaedic Business Manager, Sponsorship & Publications Manager, Public Relations Manager, Executive Officer and State Director for both medical and sporting organisations, Emma has undertaken high level strategic planning, project management, human resource, work health and safety and team building projects.

Her added ability to lead and motivate people comes from her strong sporting background where she has represented SA at State level as well as playing and coaching in the State League Netball Competition. Her experience snowboarding, kite surfing, paragliding and completing a Tough Mudder personal fitness challenge just shows her energy and enthusiasm to get things done!

The move to set up her own consulting business came from a desire to improve the general standard of health organisations in South Australia and nationally.

“I was regularly coming across GP/ healthcare practices that had no accreditation, worked with poor administrative processes and held limited governance procedures or no succession planning. Often practices weren’t compliant in important operational areas such as Human Resources ( Fair Work Act – understanding the National Employment  Standards and having correct employment contracts and job descriptions in place) and Work, Health & Safety (having no policy in place, including no risk assessment and incorrect Insurances) just to name a few areas”, she said.

“I felt confident I could make a significant difference by consulting to many organisations instead of perfecting just the one and bingo, Emma Sutter Health Consulting was founded.

“The way in which we work – holding an initial no obligation review and audit process followed by the provision of an outline of areas that require attention (and how we can provide that) purposely makes it easy for clients to both scope the work and choose the pieces that will provide the greatest benefit.

“I know through my own experience that often the weight of work needed can be overwhelming, especially when health care professionals are heavily focused on patient care and the ever increasing demands of running a practice or hospital facility. Having someone conduct an organisational review that identifies all possible areas of improvement  and then assists with their implementation can make these sometimes daunting tasks/ decisions simple”, she said.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Education degree, a Master of Business Administration, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Australian Association of Practice Management Ltd (AAPM). She is an energetic and motivated professional, a clear and positive communicator, an eminently regarded strategist and a hands on resource who can operate at all management levels.
